RLAS Technology Review
At the March 8th Board Meeting the SFA and the BOE tabled the pending proposal from Net56 so that concerns with the solution could be addressed. SFA Chairman Doug Parks broke these down to two main issues based on objections I presented: 1) What type of technology solution is the best technology and best learning solution for our district? and 2) Is the solution outsourcing the district’s IT, and is the current proposal the most responsible one?
SFA member Bish Krywko and I were asked to take a look at this matter with the administration. On March 15, the Board appointed an Ad-Hoc Technology Committee, which I am chairing. Right now we are coming up with plans on how to cover these issues. To assist in this process I have created these pages to disseminate some of the information I have gathered while doing my research. Statements and opinions expressed on this website are the opinion of me, W. Guy Finley, and are not necessarily those of the Technology Committee or Round Lake Area Schools. Materials supplied and referenced are publicly available.
I hope it proves useful to you!
