Obama didn't sound like a fool because he was asked questions about issues that matter, not a 20 questions quiz of the minutiae of McCain's record during a nearly 30-year senate career.

Don't go saying McCain's pick flies in the face of what his campaign stood for when Obama, Mr. "Change" picks a career politician and one of the longest serving senators for his running mate. Nice change, more of the same.

You're right, and Obama didn't sound like a total fool in that case, either. Even if they were mundane questions, she struggled to make ANY coherent sense. She actually tried to defend the idea that being governor of Alaska gave her foreign policy experience?

Sure, she gave a great speech at the convention, but she does have a background in broadcast journalism, and is easy on the eyes. I'm not surprised she was able to deliver a prepared speech.

Besides that, is she EVER going to have a press conference? It's INSANE that a candidate for VP won't even MEET the press. What will she do if they do win?

My problem with the Palin pick is she is not only a bad pick for VP (and undoubtedly an almost exclusively politically driven pick) but that choosing her killed one of McCain's greatest strengths over Obama.

Experience.

That WAS the meat of their campaign, but you'll notice they just don't go there as much anymore.

I think Couric deliberately tried to make her stupid by asking her mundane questions. It doesn't matter what she knows about John McCain, it matters if she can be VP.

When Obama went on O'Reilly he was asked questions about the issues and his positions, stuff that mattered. Couric was trying to play "gotcha". It's too bad that Tim Russert is gone and any credibility that network had regarding politics died with him.

So what do you think of her now? I would hope you've seen the Couric interviews, and I know you are a smart "Guy." So don't let your partisanship cloud your judgement on this disgrace of a candidate.
