The Forgotten Wing

There’s a wing of Magee that appears to have been largely forgotten over the years and was used for storage. I’ve posted some very interesting photos of the area, there are some interesting “artifacts” remaining in this area and I certainly would like to hear from someone who knows more about it!
It looks as though this was the old locker room area for the gym before the gym was rebuilt. I believe the Magee gym was redone at the same time the south addition was done which was also around the time of the RLHS gym addition. There are a couple of “stairways to nowhere” in this area and I’d sure appreciate an older Magee alumnus filling us in! The locker rooms used to be underneath the gym so that might account for the stairways to nowhere. The girls locker rooms were under the gym on the north side and the boys on the south. The boys locker room was not sealed up in the last renovation — it was used at the custodian’s room on the lower (cafeteria) level.
The girl’s locker room was sealed. It is hard to tell what you have pictured, though, because there was also a kitchen on the first floor (west wall of the old library between the library and the stage) because the former library was a cafeteria at one time.
Btw–I heard that Magee has been broken into several times to steal materials and that the Round Lake Police wasn’t being of much help. Is that true?

Unfortunately we have had some break-ins, we have increased lighting on site and the police have stepped up patrols. An arrest has been made (day before I took these photos) so hopefully the authorities are on top of the problem now.
Thanks for your memories of the “forgotten wing”. It seems it officially is the boys locker room! Although I figured I had at least part of a boys bathroom given that urinal! These walls are going to be taken out now, the “stairs to nowhere” will still be there but it will be much a much more useful place now.
